Wednesday night.
I was about to leave, and all I wanted to say was that you looked like Anderson Cooper.
The casual comment turned into an hour talking about our lives and the things we do.
I ended it with, ” I really should get going and get some sleep “.
Clearly I was not in any hurry to sleep since I am writing this note.
Good talking to you;
I don’t give my number out to strangers, but had you asked–
I would have made an exception.
We should have ended it with a plan for a hike and beers.

Welcome to Chizeck.com

Hello everybody.

For those of you that have already visited here, I’ve got some explainin’ to do. I used to write a blog called the Idea of Progress. It’s still over there.  If you’re bored, there’s a lot of stuff there.

But now I’m here, under my own name, so if anyone wants to blame me for something, you know where to find me.

Enjoy!

NaNoWriMo Begins Tomorrow

nanowrimo1And I’m a little nervous.  National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is more of a challenge than an event- Write a 50,000 word novel in a month.  It doesn’t have to be a good novel, it doesn’t have to make any more sense than Bill O’Reilly’s erotic crime thriller, Those Who Tresspass, it just needs to be 50,000 words.

I’m anxious because I’ve never written anything that long.  I’ve written a few screenplays and scripts, sure, but this is a much headier undertaking.  What if I start strong and then flake out after two days?  I need to write 1,667 words a day to do this.

But I’m going ahead anyway, with the hope of winning a piece of paper that says I’ve completed it.  Plus, I will be able to say I’ve written a novel, and that plus a dollar fifty will get me a cup of coffee.

Saturday

This bears no resemblence to the author. You jerk.

Saturdays are good days for doing nothing.

While Sundays are generally the day people utilize for laying about on the couch, reading the paper, drinking coffee, etc, I find Saturdays to be a much more effective day for the sweet moments of doing nothing.

Here’s what’s wrong with Sundays: You go back to work Monday. That means if you don’t clean the cat litter, do the dishes, wash all of the dirty laundry that’s spreading from your hamper like it’s going to swallow you whole, well, you’ve got to do it during the week, and that’s not fun.

On Saturday, though, if you want to spend four hours in the coffee shop surfing the internet before going to see a movie, well, you can always do the dishes on Sunday.

That’s my plan, anyway. (I know, I know, what an amazing post! Well, suck it.)
